Technical SEO
Whether search engines can crawl and index your site, with the fixes written as tickets or shipped as code.
A site publishes hundreds of pages and half of them never appear in search. An automated audit returns 60 warnings, and the developer asks which ones matter.
Before a search engine judges the content, its crawler has to fetch the page and find the copy in the HTML. Then it has to work out where the page sits in the site. Technical SEO checks each of those, and the audit ranks the findings by impact. I do it as a fractional consultant who also writes code. A finding can go to your developers as a ticket or go live as a fix.
I've run technical SEO since 2018, agency-side and then directly for clients. The fixes run in agile sprints alongside your developers, and the audit covers the codebase as well as the crawl data.
Which situation sounds like yours?
Indexation
Pages are published and don't show up in search
A crawl of the site compared with what search engines have indexed. It shows which pages are blocked or duplicated, and which are orphaned with no internal links. Each cause gets a fix and an owner.
Rendering
Your site runs on a JavaScript framework or came from an AI app builder
Some crawlers don't run JavaScript, so content loaded in the browser can be missing from what they read. I check the HTML each crawler receives and specify the rendering change.
Architecture
The site has thousands of pages and keeps growing
URL structure, navigation, internal linking and XML sitemaps planned as one system, with crawl budget managed as the site grows.
Speed
Pages load slowly on mobile
Core Web Vitals, Google's measures of loading speed and layout stability, checked on real pages. The causes are traced to images, scripts, fonts or layout.
What the work covers
Technical audit
Crawling, indexation, site architecture, internal linking and structured data, checked by crawler and by hand. Findings are ranked by impact, and the ones that can be left alone are marked.
Developer tickets
Each fix written to the detail a developer needs to build it.
Fixes in the CMS or the code
Where nobody owns a fix, I make it in the CMS or theme, or as a pull request to your codebase.
Structured data
Schema markup for products, organisations, local businesses and breadcrumbs, validated against what the page shows.
Baseline and re-check
Indexed pages and speed scores recorded before the fixes, then a re-crawl afterwards to confirm each one.
How an engagement runs
Step 1
A short fit call
A short call to check the work suits both sides and agree which parts of the site are in scope.
Step 2
A scoping audit, from £564 + VAT
A crawl and an indexation review, with rendering and site architecture checked alongside. Quick fixes go in as I find them. Large sites are scoped on the call.
Step 3
Findings and plan
Findings ranked by impact, each with a fix and an owner. You keep the plan whatever you decide next.
Step 4
Fixes and re-check
Tickets for your developers, or fixes made directly on a fractional basis from £1.8k a month. A re-crawl confirms each one against the baseline.
Book a fit call or see pricing. Prices are indicative, and each package is scoped to the project.

FAQs
What is technical SEO?
The work that lets search engines crawl and index a site. It covers site structure, internal linking, redirects, sitemaps, structured data and page speed.
How is this different from SEO strategy?
Strategy decides what the site should cover and in what order. Technical SEO checks search engines can reach and read it. A roadmap often starts with a technical pass, and I run both as one plan.
Do you work with our developers or agency?
Yes. When your team is building, I write the tickets and check the result. When nobody owns the fix, I make it myself.
Can we get the audit without the fixes?
Yes. The findings and plan stand on their own, written so your developers can act on them.
Start with a fit call
A short fit call comes first. Most projects then start with a scoping audit covering the crawl and indexation review, from £564 + VAT. The rest is scoped around what you need.
